~~~~~~~~~~ Winter Wonderland ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love when we get snow! It makes everything look so beautiful. Im not too crazy about spending over 6 hours on the freeway stuck in traffic after work, but oh well. I made it home safe and took the next day off with the kids. We did some sledding, until the kids got too cold and had to come in. The rest of our day has been spent watching movies, making some muffins and drinking some hot cocoa and apple cider. Good times!
****************** Cousins spend the night!
Gavin and Nate spent the night with the girls and had a fun time goofing around, watching movies and playing in a little snow the next morning. May I add Gavin kicked mine and Nick's butts in Yahtzee. Who gets three Yahtzee's in one game, it's unheard of!
Acosta Crew Go To Chinatown!
Since we dont seem to get any cultural influences out her in Black Diamond, Nick suggested we take a day trip to Chinatown. We took the lightrail from Tukwila, which is always fun, and got off right in Chinatown. We did some shopping at Uwajimaya and had some Dim Sum at Hong Kong. Marissa loved Dim Sum, Savanna stuck with mainly chow mein. It was really delicious. The girls may have been a bit overwhelmed, but I think they had a good time.
Rookie of the Year and Most Improved!
Marissa has finished her first soccer season. Unfortuntely her team didn't win a game, but most importantly she made new friends and had a great time.
Even more Halloween Disney!
More Halloween Disney!
Halloween Disney!
We just got back from our trip to Disneyland. It was great seeing the park decorated for Halloween. We all especially enjoyed Haunted Mansion Holiday. Here are some pictures of our fun.
Harvest Time
I'm very pleased with my first official year in veggie/fruit gardening. It was pretty successful considering I was learning as I went. I had some corn, raspberries, green onions and tomatoes. The tomatoes are just turning red though. I also grew scarlet runner beans, but I have no clue what to do with them now. Time to google it...
Savanna could barely contain herself on our walk out to the bus stop for her very first day of kindergarten. She has been having a great time. She had Mrs. Tabit, the same kindergarten teacher Mimi had. She's made some new friends and is very excited to go to school everyday. I can only hope this enjoyment doesn't wear off anytime soon.
New Adventures
The summer is gone, but we had some good times and the girls embarked on some new challenges that they've enjoyed. Marissa started soccer and piano lessons. Both the girls took swim and I'm proud to say they were both swimming without floaties by the end. Lots of fun. I love fall though, so I'm already looking forward :)
Kings of Leon @ the Gorge
Nick and I joined my parents for a Kings of Leon Concert at the Gorge. It was a great show, along with the show all the drunk kids were putting on for us. Oh to be young. I think I sort of missed most of that stage, thankfully!
Swim Lessons!
Marissa, Nate & Savanna at their swim lessons with instructor Marie! Gavin got to do a little swimming during free time too!
